Unmask Initiative for Mental Wellbeing is a Nigerian non-profit working to advance mental wellbeing, emotional literacy, and personal resilience across communities. Through storytelling, reading programs, and community engagement, we help people better understand their emotions and access supportive environments that encourage growth and healing.

Vent2Heal Program

Connecting people in distress to the support they need.

Emotional distress can affect anyone.

Moments of grief, anxiety, depression, overwhelming stress, loneliness, or personal crisis can arise suddenly, and many people find themselves without anyone they feel comfortable speaking to.

In many communities, access to immediate emotional support or mental health care is still limited. As a result, individuals often carry their struggles quietly without knowing where to turn.

The Vent2Heal Project was created to bridge that gap. While many Unmask programs focus on awareness, storytelling, and emotional literacy, Vent2Heal focuses on supporting individuals who may already be experiencing emotional distress and need immediate guidance or support.

What the Project Will Offer

Emotional First Aid & Listening Spaces

Sometimes what a person needs most in a difficult moment is simply someone who will listen without judgment. Individuals experiencing emotional distress will be connected to trained first responders who can provide immediate emotional support and guidance.

Pathways to Professional Support

While conversations and emotional first aid can be helpful, some situations require deeper professional care. Vent2Heal will collaborate with certified mental health organizations and professionals who can provide therapy, counselling, and specialized care when necessary.

Trauma-Sensitive Storytelling Sessions (Support Groups)

In addition to referrals, the program will explore healing-centered storytelling sessions (support groups) where individuals can share and process experiences in a safe and guided environment.
