Unmask Initiative is a youth-led nonprofit dedicated to breaking the silence around mental health in Africa. We empower young people to share their stories, access resources, and build supportive communities. Our mission is to foster hope, healing, and resilience through advocacy, education, and creative expression.
Designed for adults (ages 25–70), this program supports emotional awareness, personal development, and mental health literacy.
Our flagship child-focused initiative. It strengthens children’s emotional literacy, reading culture, and self-expression
A developing program that provides mental health first aid referrals and more. This helps individuals who need immediate emotional support but lack access.
"Participating in an Unmask session helped me understand my emotions in ways I never had before. The safe and welcoming environment made it easy to share, listen, and learn. It reminded me that we are not alone in our struggles."
“The program helped our students talk about their feelings in ways we had never seen before. It encouraged empathy, confidence, and a stronger sense of connection among the children.”
“Unmask is doing something truly important in our communities. Their approach to mental wellbeing through storytelling and education is powerful and deeply needed.”
