Unmask Initiative for Mental Wellbeing is a Nigerian non-profit working to advance mental wellbeing, emotional literacy, and personal resilience across communities. Through storytelling, reading programs, and community engagement, we help people better understand their emotions and access supportive environments that encourage growth and healing.

Library of Feelings

Exploring emotions through books, stories, and shared reflection.

The Library of Feelings (formerly Thrilled to Heal) is a dialogue-based storytelling circle that brings people together to explore emotions, identity, and life experiences through literature, film, and creative expression.

Stories help us understand ourselves in ways that direct advice often cannot.

When we read a novel, watch a film, or listen to a character’s journey, we often find pieces of our own lives reflected in those stories.

The Library of Feelings creates a space where people can engage with these stories together and reflect on what they reveal about human emotions and personal experiences.

What happens in a session

Participants gather in a relaxed and welcoming environment to explore selected works of fiction, literature, films, or creative pieces.

Sessions may include:

  • Book or story discussions
  • Guided reflection and dialogue
  • Creative responses to stories through writing or art
  • Conversations about identity, emotions, and life experiences

The goal is not academic analysis but personal reflection and shared understanding.

Through these discussions, participants often discover new perspectives on their own emotions and experiences.

Wellness Toolkits

The Library of Feelings also serves as a hub for Unmask’s wellness toolkits.

These toolkits include carefully curated materials, resources, and reflection guides designed to help individuals explore their emotions, practice self-awareness, and develop healthier coping tools.
